Cyber-D's Autodelete

As a software editor, part of my job involves working with several files every day. Starting with the programs that I'm downloading in order to review and ending with programs' screen-shoots (and other images) plus various files and folders. There is a folder for downloaded programs, a folder for screen-shoots and images and quite a few more folders for other purposes. However, from time to time I have to do some cleaning in all this folders. This is not necessarily a hard task but there is always something more important to do then this. Not long ago, luckily, I've found a program which does this cleaning for me - Autodelete.

Basically, this program automates the task of deleting files and folders. You can select any folder or file and specify a particular time after which they are going to be deleted. To me this is very handy. I don't want to spend the time deleting old files or folders every month manually - Autodelete does is for me.

Looking at the interface, it's really simple. At the top of the program window you can set the application to start with Windows and to create a log of the deleted files. In the middle, you can see the folder settings. In here, you can select as many folders that you want and add them to the app. Then, you can set different settings for each folders. For example, you may want to delete the files from Temporary Internet Files each day and the files from a Downloads folder every month. You can add these folders separately and specify different settings for each.

More to this, you can add filters for the files that are added into the program for automatic delete. For example, you may want to delete only a particular file type from a folder or to exclude a file type from the files that are going to be deleted.

At the bottom of the interface, you can choose what to do with the selected folder. You can specify the time period after which the files are going to be deleted. More to this, you can choose to delete the files permanently or to send them to Recycle Bin.

Something that I like very much is the option to move the folder after the specified time to another place (a network place, another drive, etc).

Pluses: It's free; customizable; easy to use and understand.

MP3 Cutter and Joiner 1.0

This program cuts and joins MP3 and WAV audio files at a very high level. The installation is extremely fast, and in seconds MP3 Cutter and Joiner launches on your desktop. The main window has two tabs, one for splitting and one for joining. The splitting tab asks you to select a file and destination folder, as well as to configure the splitting by either time or space. The joining tab lets you drop files onto a list and unify those files into one you name in a folder you specify. Both operations take little time and the performance is outstanding. The split files have no skips at the beginning or end, and the unified file is pop-free. The interface might look primitive, but the program's output is advanced.
